Before Honey Massage

  • Light Meals: If you're going to eat beforehand, it’s a good idea to keep your meal light 2 hr before, your treatment. Avoid overly heavy, greasy, or spicy foods, as they could leave you feeling sluggish or uncomfortable during the massage. A light salad, fruit, or a small smoothie would be ideal.
  • Avoid Sugary or Caffeinated Foods: Since honey is naturally sweet, consuming too much sugar (even from other sources) could make your body feel more bloated or sluggish. Similarly, try to avoid caffeine as it may increase sensitivity or cause dehydration.
  • Nourishing Foods: Opt for foods rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals—things like leafy greens, berries, and whole grains can be beneficial for overall skin health. This can complement the benefits of the honey massage, which works to nourish and moisturize the skin.
  • Wear comfortable clothing - Avoid restrictive clothing that makes it hard for the massage therapist to work
  • Avoid Lotions & Oils – Keep your skin free from creams or oils so the honey can adhere properly.
  • Hydrate- Drink water before the session to help your body detox effectively.

After Honey Massage

  • Avoid exercising - Don't exercise too soon after a massage, as your muscles are still soft and pliable
  • Drink water - Drinking water helps keep your muscles hydrated and flush out lactic acid.
  • Avoid Sun Exposure – Your skin may be more sensitive, so protect it from direct sunlight.
  • Skip Harsh Scrub or Exfoliation – Your skin might be sensitive, so wait a day before exfoliating.
  • Rest & Relax – The detoxifying effects continue after the massage, so take it easy and let your body absorb the benefits.
  • Eat Skin-Healthy Foods: After your massage, try foods that promote skin health, such as healthy fats (avocados, nuts, seeds), vitamin C-rich foods (oranges, bell peppers), and foods high in collagen (bone broth, leafy greens) to keep the skin rejuvenated.
  • Avoid Heavy Meals Immediately After: Your body may feel more relaxed after a honey massage, so you’ll want to avoid overeating or consuming heavy meals right afterward. Stick with something light but nourishing, like a smoothie, soup, or fruit.
